Sex slave trade

Husband and I watched Taken last night, and it messed me up.

The movie itself was decent. The plot had some flaws and the action became unbelievable pretty quickly, but there were some good surprises and clever dialogue. What is still haunting me, though, is that the disgusting set design is reality for millions of young women and children all over the world.

UNICEF, for example, cites that “as many as two million children are subjected to prostitution in the global commercial sex trade” (TIP 09, page 22). That’s atrocious.

This morning I remembered an organization I saw at OneThing last December called Exodus Cry.

Check these guys out. I love that they emphasize prayer as much as they emphasize physically going. Both have to happen. I’m in the process of reading through everything on their website. I want to buy you guys some t-shirts or something, but I’ll have to check my budget – possible give-away pending, but I make no promises.

In the meantime, adopt a nation for prayer and tell us which one in the comments. I signed up for the U.S. You?
